Chrome Extension

The CVWiser Chrome extension reads job postings only when you click Capture. Review the fields, check your match score and gaps against your profile while you are still on the job page, then decide whether to open CVWiser or create an application package. Skip weak fits without wasting a credit. Included on every plan at no extra cost.

How to install

Add to Chrome
Click Add to Chrome and confirm in the Chrome Web Store.

Pin the extension
Click the puzzle icon in Chrome and pin CVWiser to your toolbar.

Sign in
Open the extension popup and sign in to your CVWiser account.

How it works

The point of the extension is not autofill. It is capture → match → decide → package, so you only tailor roles that are worth your time and credits.

Open a job posting
Browse LinkedIn (best supported), Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, or most company career pages with a job listing.

Capture from this tab
Click Capture in the extension popup. Nothing runs in the background until you do. The extension pulls job title, company, page URL, and job description.

Review and edit fields
Check the captured fields. Fix anything the extractor missed so the match score and package use the right posting text.

See your match score before you generate
Still on the job page, you get a match % against your master profile, short gap notes, and a plain cue such as “Strong match, worth tailoring.” Use this as a go / no-go before spending a package credit.

Decide: skip, open, or create a package
If the fit is weak, walk away without generating. If it is worth it, choose Open in CVWiser or Create application package. Optionally keep Track this application on so the role lands in your tracker.

Tailor and export in CVWiser
In the package editor, generate a tailored CV and cover letter from your real profile, run consistency checks, export PDF/DOCX, then submit on the employer site.

FAQ

Which sites work?

LinkedIn works best. Most career pages work via a generic extractor (Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, and many company sites). You can always edit fields before you open CVWiser or create a package.

What data is captured?

Only when you click Capture: job title, company, page URL, and job description. Nothing runs in the background.

Can I see a match score before I generate a package?

Yes. After Capture, the extension shows your match score and gap notes on the job page before Open in CVWiser or Create application package. Skip poor-fit roles without wasting a generation credit.

Is this an autofill or auto-apply extension?

No. It captures the posting, shows fit, and hands off to a tailored CV + cover letter workflow. It does not mass-submit applications for you.

Is it included in my plan?

Yes. The extension is free on Free, PAYG, and Pro. Generating packages uses your normal monthly or PAYG quota.

Will it invent skills on my resume?

No. Packages are generated from your master profile. At generate time the AI can reframe real experience for the posting, but it cannot add employers, titles, or skills that are not already in your profile. Always review the trust diff before you export.
